Thanks To All Who Came

In October 2007, Collaborative Arts Theatre produced the regional premiere of The Sublet Experiment, by Ethan Youngerman. This romantic comedy takes place in an apartment, so we wanted to bring the audience where the action is -- to real apartments in Charlotte!

In the play, Eric is subletting his apartment to Melanie. It's the kind of thing you see on a site like craigslist: "Free rent in exchange for, to put it delicately, a physical arrangement."

But we soon learn that Eric is not exactly who he seems to be -- and neither is Melanie. The ensuing twists and turns offer a hilarious glimpse into our ongoing search for identity -- and love.

The Sublet Experiment offered a unique experience for the audience, seated right in the apartment where the action takes place. A real apartment, not a set. Each week offered a new venue, and a unique relationship between the actors, the space and the audience.
