Shakespeare Revealed

A Free Public Seminar

Explore Two of Shakespeare's Most Well-loved Plays and Get a Behind-the-Scenes Peek at Our Rehearsal Process

Collaborative Arts will present Shakespeare Revealed, an interactive public seminar and open rehearsal led by distinguished visiting guest artist Daniela Varon. This one-of-a-kind event will take place on

Friday, April 25 at 7:30pm
in the Duke Energy Theatre at Spirit Square in uptown Charlotte.

Admission is free and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations are recommended and can be made by sending an email to education@collaborativeartstheatre.com.

During the evening, Ms. Varon will lead a discussion with the audience about Romeo and Juliet and Much Ado About Nothing, our 2008 Summer Shakespeare productions. She will also demonstrate how directors approach Shakespeare in the modern age and how actors can unlock the text to bring it fully alive for today's audience. The seminar will include a “behind the scenes” look at the rehearsal process as Ms. Varon works with actors from both plays to demonstrate various rehearsal techniques used when approaching Shakespeare text.
