In addition to the contributions of our cast, design and production staff, we are very grateful for the support of the following companies and individuals:
Jonavan Adams (Paris) – Jonavan is overjoyed to work on his third production with Collaborative Arts. He was most recently seen in the Nouvea festival at Theatre Charlotte and in Edmond at CAST. Enjoy the show and God bless!
Ken Akers (Montague) – Ken’s been a cast member for all three
years of Shakespeare at The Green. He encourages all theatre lovers to cheer
on Collaborative Arts by
attending performances and by making a financial contribution…and if
you choose not to, he’ll send an angry mob of Montagues to your house.
Roshunda Anthony (Chorus) – Roshunda is a performer who moonlights as a secretary by day. She was recently featured in Theatre Charlotte's production of Walking Across Egypt. She’s also been a singer/dancer for Cedar Fair's Carowinds Theme Park for the past three years.
Nick Asa (Prince) – Nick recently completed a course to become a river raft guide, even though he’s usually the one falling out of the boat whenever he’s gone rafting. By day, he imagines wearing a cape, so that he can fly around and fight injustice in the world.
Caroline Avery Granger (Prince’s Lieutenant / Servant) – Caroline was most recently seen as Edith Frank in Theatre Charlotte’s sell out production of The Diary of Anne Frank. She is thankful to Elise and Joe, and the entire Collaborative Arts cast and crew, for the opportunity to pursue her passion!
Heather Lauren Bartlett (Balthazar / Watchman) – Heather is from Trinity, NC and just received her BA in Theatre Arts from Gardner-Webb University. Previous roles include Adela in The House of Bernarda Alba and Reagan in a deconstruction of King Lear. She is excited about her first show with Collaborative Arts!
Dr. Tim Baxter-Ferguson (Set Designer) - Tim is an Associate Professor and Chair of Theatre at Limestone College in Gaffney, SC. He is a resident playwright at Theatre Charlotte and has been designing and constructing sets for nearly a decade.
Joe Copley (Capulet) – Joe is delighted to be returning to Shakespeare at The Green, after co-directing As You Like It in 2007 and appearing as Bottom in the 2006 production of A Midsummer Night's Dream. He most recently appeared in Gem of the Ocean at Actor's Theatre. Joe is the Managing Director of Collaborative Arts.
Corlis Hayes (Nurse) – Corlis is delighted to return to The Green for the third season of Collaborative Arts’ Shakespeare at The Green!
Ken Heim (Sampson) – Ken is excited to be making his first appearance
with
Collaborative Arts. He recently appeared as Jack in CPCC's production
of Why the Lord Came to Sand Mountain and Sgt. Bates in The Love Suicide at
Schofield Barracks.
Caleb Houston Moore (Gregory / Watchman) – Caleb graduated from Gardner-Webb University with a B.A. in Theatre Arts in May 2008. He is interested in acting, music, graphic design and photography. He is excited about working with Collaborative Arts this summer.
Catherine Howard (Lady Capulet) – This is Catherine's first production
with
Collaborative Arts. Before moving to Charlotte last year, she performed
with the
Upstate Shakespeare Festival in Greenville, SC in Macbeth and Love's
Labour's Lost. She is very excited to be a part of this classic love story
and would like to thank her family and friends for their support.
Meghan Lowther (Benvolio) – Meghan is thrilled to be back at The Green with Collaborative Arts after last summer’s stint in As You Like It. She can also be seen this summer at Spirit Square with the sketch comedy group Robot Johnson. Love and thanks to the GFW.
Corinna May (Fight Director) – Shakespeare: Hamlet, Macbeth (2 X), Romeo and Juliet (3 X), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (3 X), 12th Night (2 X), As You Like It (2 X), Taming of the Shrew (2 X); Contemporary: Escape From Happiness, Cabaret, Love and Anger, Spring Awakening, Orphans, Keeley and Du. Training: Fight Masters B.H. Barry and Tony Simotes; the SAFD (Society of American Fight Directors); FDC (Fight Directors Canada).
Christian Michelsen (Friar John) – Christian is back this year in his second production with Collaborative Arts. He was in their 2006 production of A Midsummer Night's Dream. He’s also been seen in Theatre Charlotte's productions of Waiting for Godot and The Crucible. Christian is a Charlotte native and received a BFA in acting from Emerson College.
Kimberly Pixton Millar (Costume Designer) – Local designer Kimberly Millar is thrilled to be back for a second season with Shakespeare at The Green. Previous work includes As You Like It, A Chorus Line, Crazyface and The Body Chronicles. Her collection of couture bridal gowns can be found in salons in North Carolina, Texas and Ireland.
Stephanie M Phillips (Stage Manager) – Stephanie is proud to be working with another fabulous Shakespearian cast. They just keep getting better and better!
Chaz Pofahl (Romeo) – Chaz has been looking forward to being back on The Green since playing Orlando in As You Like It last summer, but in the meantime has kept busy doing numerous shows such as Smoke on The Mountain, Macbeth, and Debbie Does Dallas: The Musical and traveling, hiking, and eating lots of delicious food with Greta, his on- and off-stage sweetheart.
Bryan Ragon (Tybalt) – Bryan is glad to once again have a few moments to spare for Shakespeare amidst his busy life as a CrossFit trainer, Diet Coke drinker, computer nerd, and member of the nationally known Tortuga Twins, the bawdy RenFaire trio. Huzzah!
Mel Robinson (Production Manager) – For Mel's first venture into the great outdoors with Shakespeare, she is very excited to be here! She’s stage-managed numerous shows at Theatre Charlotte, as well as having worked for Children's Theatre, Epic Arts, Actors Scene Unseen, and others. She graduated from Winthrop University in 2003 and in her spare time, she enjoys job hunting (melissarobinson@email.com with offers!).
Trista Rothe (Lighting Designer) - Trista recently returned to Charlotte after studying and designing lights around the country. She is excited to work with Collaborative Arts for her Charlotte re-debut!
James Shafer (Abram / Apothecary) – “I am nothing. Jesus is everything. My true identity is found in Him.”
Robert Lee Simmons (Mercutio) – Robert is honored to make his Shakespeare
debut with Collaborative Arts. He is very thankful to be working with such
a talented and
passionate cast and crew. Robert would like to thank Elise, Joe,
Corinna, Stephanie and Jen for their guidance and support!
Peter Smeal (Friar Lawrence) – Peter is easy to spot on stage. He's the one up there swimming in his costume...the one who just dripped on you. In his spare time he likes to complain to his cat (aka "Platonic Life Partner") about how silly he was to agree to another outdoor show in the middle of summer.
Elise Wilkinson (Director) – As a director, Elise’s most recent work includes Closer Than Ever, As You Like It, Bad Dates and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. As an actor, she has appeared in Fiction for Collaborative Arts as well as Orange Flower Water and An Empty Plate at the Café du Grand Bouef for Barebones Theatre Group. She is immensely grateful for the time and passion that the cast and crew has put into this year’s festival.
Greta Marie Zandstra (Juliet) – Greta is thrilled to return for another
summer of
Shakespearian fun after playing Celia in As You Like It, June in
Smoke on the Mountain, and Lisa in Debbie Does Dallas: The Musical… all
with Chaz, her real-life Romeo.
